World Trade Center Nanjing supported Nanjing by showcasing the charm of Youth Olympic Games, Hexi Central Business District and World Trade Center Nanjing to the world. Representatives from Nanjing Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee, Asian Youth Games Organizing Committee, Nanjing Hexi Headquarters, WTC Business Club of Nanjing and other related parties traveled to New York, USA to promote the Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games on 16 February 2013. The 4-day long event aimed to promote the Youth Olympic Games by highlighting and showcasing Hexi Central Business District (CBD) and World Trade Center Nanjing (WTCN) to the New York City residents in different ways, such as parade floats, photo exhibition, LED advertising panels and investment promotion seminars. Distinguished guests included several New York State Senators, New York State Assembly members, New York City Council members and elected officials.

The Youth Olympic Games is like a “Little Olympics”, focusing on a blend of ancient culture and modern civilization. In 2014, it will be a major event in Nanjing—the ancient Chinese capital of the Six Dynasties, which is also one of the four ancient cities in China with over 2500 years of history. The coming Youth Olympic Games will take place in Hexi New Town of Nanjing. With The 10th National Games of the People’s Republic of China being held in 2001, Hexi New Town has developed rapidly to become Nanjing’s new city center. Hexi New Town is the second largest CBD in Eastern China, following after the Shanghai Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone.

Numerous enterprises have been attracted by the Youth Olympic Games resulting in the rapid development of the Hexi New Town. One the these is the US-based F&T Group which is an umbrella organization comprising of a number of integrated real estate services companies, including TDC Development International, TOP8 Construction Corporation and FULTONEX Management. In 2009, the group invested in the construction of World Trade Center Nanjing (WTCN), a landmark in Hexi New Town. The WTCN will commence operation starting 2014 with full completion expected in 2015.

Vice Mayor of Nanjing, Mr. Li Qi and the delegation of Nanjing World Trade Center took part in this event in Moscow. In addition, representatives of the Nanjing Branch of CCPIT and representatives from Nanjing Federation of Industry and Commerce also took part in this event.

The Nanjing delegation has participated in a variety of activities in the Conference of Moscow World Trade Center Association and acquired a lot of business interaction and trade cooperation opportunities. One of the most notable activities is that Nanjing World Trade Center, together with the Nanjing Branch of CCPIT, signed a memorandum of understanding with St. Petersburg World Trade Center. Vice Mayor of Nanjing, Mr. Li Qi and CEO of Nanjing World Trade Center, Mr. Michael Meyer attended the signing of the memorandum of understanding, which is one of the important business agreements signed in this Moscow event.

The theme of the 43^rd session of the World Trade Center Association Conference is “World Trade Center: the engine of innovation”. The conference focuses on the important economic impetus generated from the World Trade Center to the city. During the conference, special business fairs, forums and fellowship activities were held to promote the mutual exchange of experiences between the participants; in addition, the regional exhibitions, activities of signing international and regional agreements and hiking activities in the outskirts of the city were held, and participants were also arranged to watch the performance of the Bolshoi Theatre. At the last day of the conference, representatives took the high-speed rail to St. Petersburg to take part in the St. Petersburg International Innovation Forum.

Nanjing World Trade Center has been constantly active in expanding international trade and investment opportunities for Nanjing and will play an important role as a bridge. Earlier this year, Nanjing World Trade Center has contributed to signing of the agreement on sister harbor between Nanjing Harbor and San Diego Harbor and of the cooperation agreement between Nanjing Harbor and Nanjing Federation of Industry and Commerce by virtue of its own global coverage of commercial and trade networks.

In the afternoon of September 13, member of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee, party secretary Yang Weize met with the Economic and Trade Delegation led by the board chairman of Taipei World Trade Center. Such leaders as Qian Jihong, Liu Yi’an and Zhao Xiaojiang in Nanjing were present in the meeting.

Yang Weize, on behalf of Nanjing party committee and municipal government, extended a warm welcome to Wang Zhigang and the delegation for their participation in 2011 Cross-Strait Business Summit in Tzu-chin Mountain and Taiwan Trade Fair in Nanjing. Wang Zhigang showed great gratitude for the support and services provided by the Nanjing party committee and municipal government for Taiwan Trade Fair in Nanjing. He also pointed out that Taiwan Trade Fair that had been held twice successfully in Nanjing became an important brand of the cross-strait economic and trade exchanges. At the same time, he emphasized that they would bring their advantages into full play, actively build more exchange and cooperation platforms to promote more Taiwan-funded enterprises to settle in Nanjing and strive to expand the extensive and in-depth cooperation in a number of areas to achieve more fruitful cooperation results.

On September 10^th, 2012, Nanjing World Trade Center signed the cooperation agreement with Nanjing Federation of Industry and Commerce. According to the agreement, Nanjing World Trade Center will be relying on the global network of more than 300 cities in nearly 100 countries to broaden the platform and channel of foreign economic and trade exchanges for Nanjing Federation of Industry and Commerce and its member companies, so that the local enterprises can go towards internationalization more easily and conveniently.

It is reported that Nanjing World Trade Center will regularly organize private enterprises in Nanjing to go to the United States and other countries for survey, and foreign enterprises to come to Nanjing to have exchanges with local private enterprises. Report in March 27: Leaders from Nanjing Hexi New District headquarter and the Nanjing Foreign Affairs Office accompanied the political and business delegation from Atlanta, Georgia, USA to visit Nanjing World Trade Center Business Club and held a forum.

The Atlanta political and business delegation has a total of 11 people, led by the Atlanta mayor, Mr. Kasim Reed, including Mr. Mark Becker, president of Georgia State University and Mr. Jorge Femandez, representative in business circle and other dignitaries from Atlanta. The delegation listened to the development plan of Hexi New District with great interest and visited wholly US-funded project – Nanjing World Trade Center and held a forum in the conference room of Nanjing World Trade Center Business Club.

At the meeting, the delegation from the United States emphasized that, Atlanta was not only a historic city but also an emerging industrial and commercial city as well as a culture and health care city. With a mature transportation hub, the city has attracted the headquarters of hundreds of large companies like Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, UPS, Holiday Inn, CNN and Bell South to settle down here.

At the same time, Hexi New District headquarter also introduced the condition of Hexi New District. As the host city of the 2014 Youth Olympic Games, Hexi will be built into a new city with 600,000 people, In the city, CBD central axis business district, the service-based business center with 7 skyscrapers as the core part and the office building area of 1.5 million square meters, will become a financial and trade center offering new impetus to the Nanjing urban development.
