16 West 21st Street

Overview

16 West 21st Street is a 14-story luxury residential condominium project conceptualized as a collaboration between real estate, high architectural design and fashion. Through Monaco-based real estate services firm Gruppo C’E, American fashion designer Zac Posen will unveil his first residential interior design project. The premier boutique condominium project is Posen’s first foray into real estate, and the designer collaborated with award-winning architect Morris Adjmi, who designed the physical structure and façade, on the project. Adjmi’s “whiter than white” pure glass design for 16W21 provides a stately yet minimalistic canvas, affording Posen the opportunity to create an environmental tapestry that evokes the rich colors and textures that are emblematic of his approach to fashion design. Adjmi, on working with the designer, stated, “I am really excited to be working with Zac on this project. I think we both have a common appreciation for history in design as weel as things modern. I believe our collaboration will create a unique experience that connects the architecture to the interior.”
The LEED Silver-certified building is located in the Ladies’ Mile historic district of Manhattan, a Beaux-Arts crossroads for the creative industry that includes the Flatiron District to the north, the Chelsea art galleries to the west, and Greenwich Village to the south. All units within the fourteen story building will take up the entire floor. These units include five 2 bedroom simplexes, two 3 bedroom duplexes, a 3 bedroom ground floor townhouse duplex with a garden, and a 3 bedroom triplex penthouse with 2 private roof terraces.
The condominium is centrally located in Manhattan, providing convenient access to shopping, entertainment, and parks. Widely acclaimed eateries such as Gramercy Tavern, Mesa Grill, and Union Square Café abound alongside the daily conveniences of Starbuck’s, Whole Foods Market, Trader Joe’s, Balducci’s, Sephora, and Barnes & Noble Bookseller. Nearby parks provide residents with outdoor dining, children’s playgrounds, dog runs, and the famous Union Square Greenmarket.
