GATCHA SIGNS LEASE FOR ITS FLAGSHIP

LOCATION AT TANGRAM

The arcade popularizing nostalgic claw machine games is expected to open its doors

in New York City before the end of the year

NEW YORK – October 23, 2023 – Gatcha, a one-of-a-kind arcade destination, today announced the signing of the brand’s flagship location at Tangram. Gatcha will open its doors to New Yorkers for the first time in an 8,746 square-foot store within Tangram, the 1.2 million-square-foot, mixed-use development in Flushing, Queens.

Gatcha is pioneering the latest craze for arcade games in the United States with such high demand. Gatcha combines the nostalgia of claw machines, the thrill of Eastern arcade games, and the vibrant ambiance of a stylish bar all in one place. Gatcha offers a unique and immersive experience, where patrons can unleash their inner adventurer and test their skills with an array of claw machines, packed with products including but not limited to Gatcha Designed Plush Toys, Gundam Kits, and Anime figurines. Gatcha’s custom plush team listens to feedback from consumers to make plush toys based on quality, fluff, and design. In addition to Tangram, this year Gatcha is opening arcades all over the United States, including multiple locations in Orlando, Fla., and Saugus, Mass.

"We are absolutely thrilled to introduce our inaugural flagship location at Tangram. We aspire to be the vital element that Tangram has been eagerly anticipating, while simultaneously positioning ourselves as the foremost choice when people seek entertainment in New York,” said Jason Lian of Gatcha. “Our offerings include top-of-the-line claw machines, an extensive array of arcade games, and a fresh addition to our concept – an Asian-inspired cocktail bar. All of this is complemented by our wide-ranging product selection and a delightful collection of Gatcha-designed plushies, all crafted in-house."

Gatcha is the newest addition to Tangram’s robust experiences, which include international eateries such as, the Food Hall featuring specially selected vendors of international cuisine, Beijing-based Peking duck restaurant Ju Qi, Xi’an Famous Foods, Shoo Loong Kan Hot Pot (open until 6am), machi machi, hoi polloi (Flushing’s first beer hall), Kura Revolving Sushi, the United States’ first Tai Er Chinese Sauerkraut Fish, the first ever Angry Birds Café, and many more delicious dining options. In addition to the outstanding food and drinks, Tangram is designed as a premier Queens destination for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy a day or a weekend of entertainment at its four-star, 208-key Marriott Renaissance hotel, a state-of-the-art 4DX movie theater with seven screens from Regal Cinemas, an Orangetheory Fitness, Miniso, a premier learn-to-swim facility Goldfish Swim School, Funzy Play and much more.

“After opening a year and a half ago, Tangram has quickly solidified its position in New York City as a must-visit landmark for families and foodies alike,” said Helen Lee, Executive Vice President of F&T Group. “Tangram is officially 75 percent leased up and continues to draw interest from a variety of different tenants that now recognize the downtown Flushing market, specifically, as a highly sought-after entertainment destination in New York City.”
