KURA SUSHI SIGNS LEASE TO PREMIERES ITS FIRST NEW YORK CITY

The world-renowned revolving sushi bar is expected to open its doors in Flushing this summer

NEW YORK – February 02, 2023 – Flushing’s culinary hotspot, Tangram, today announced the signing of Kura Sushi. The opening will mark the Kura Sushi brand’s New York City debut. With more than 600 locations worldwide, Kura Sushi will open its doors to New Yorkers for the first time in a 3,040-square-foot store within Tangram, the 1.2 million-square-foot, mixed-use development in Flushing, Queens. The 10-year lease will begin in summer 2023. Christopher Schmitz of Columbia Partners represented the landlord in the deal, while Kevin Siu of Fultonex Realty represented the tenant.

Like Tangram, Kura prides itself on creating a unique, interactive experience for visitors. The restaurant's first New York City location will offer its signature revolving sushi concept, combining advanced technology, premium ingredients, and affordable prices to enhance the dining experience. With straight from the touchpad to the table service, diners can enjoy fan favorites such as the Real Crab California Roll, Golden Crunchy Roll, Tonkotsu Ramen, and Taiyaki Ice Cream. The dishes adhere to the Japanese virtue of serving natural and healthy meals. From sushi to broths and even desserts, all menu items are free of artificial sweeteners, seasonings, preservatives, and colorings.

Kura Sushi is the newest culinary addition to Tangram’s robust cultural and culinary experiences, which include international eateries such as, the Food Hall featuring specially selected vendors of international cuisine, Beijing-based Peking duck restaurant Ju Qi (open with a late-night menu until 5am), Xi’an Famous Foods, Shoo Loong Kan Hot Pot (also open until 6am), beverages from Cuppa Tea, Machi Machi, Hoi Polloi (Flushing’s first beer hall), and many more delicious dining options. In addition to the outstanding food and drinks, Tangram is designed as a premier Queens destination for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy a day or a weekend of entertainment at its four-star, 208-key Marriott Renaissance hotel, a state-of-the-art 4DX Regal Cinemas movie theater, an Orangetheory Fitness, Miniso, a premier learn-to-swim facility Goldfish Swim School, Funzy Play and much more.
