Michael Lee is a pioneer in the transformation of downtown Flushing and one of the earliest visionaries to recognize its potential as a global gateway community. Since immigrating to the United States in 1983, Mr. Lee has laid the foundation for what is now F&T Group—one of New York City’s most prominent and respected real estate development firms.

He began his professional career at his family’s Taiwan-based TAFA Shipping Company and quickly rose to become CEO of TAFA Real Estate Development from 1973 to 1983. After relocating to New York, Mr. Lee turned his attention to real estate development, where he began assembling significant land holdings in the NYC metropolitan area—particularly in Flushing, Queens. His work has been instrumental in reshaping the area’s skyline and positioning Flushing as a model for modern urban development.

Under Mr. Lee’s leadership, F&T Group has developed a diverse portfolio of large-scale residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects—many of which have earned accolades for design excellence and construction quality. His influence and long-term commitment to the community have earned praise and support from civic and elected leaders at both local and state levels.

Today, F&T Group stands as the blueprint for a new generation of Asian-American-led development firms, driven by the same foresight and ambition that Mr. Lee brought to Flushing decades ago.
